Offered as part of our comprehensive Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) program, these class-like groups offer 14-19 year olds concrete skills and tools to manage daily challenges and build a rich, meaningful life.
About the Group:Facilitated by Liz Kay (RSW, RCC), Kelly Archer (RCC), Julie Collette(RCC), and Emile Lopez (MSW, RSW, RCC) this group is offered as part of our comprehensive DBT program. The Skills Groups are structured like a class and new clients may join at the beginning of each new module.
DBT skills modules will cover the following topics: Mindfulness - A practice used to bring awareness to the present moment. Mindfulness practices develop an awareness of thoughts, feelings an physical sensations. Distress Tolerance - Skills developed to accept and cope effectively with life's stressors and challenges. Emotional Regulation - Skills to help bring greater awareness to emotions, reduce the intensity of emotions, and to change unwanted emotions. Walking the Middle Path - Teaches flexible (dialectical) thinking, goal setting and strategies on how to promote change in self and others. Interpersonal Effectiveness - Skills to help set boundaries and get what you want, to build and maintain healthy relationships, and feel good doing it. How to Join:This is a weekly group offered to anyone 14-19 years old on Tuesdays from
