Karen Mitchinson, RCC is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with more than 30 years experience working with adults, children and youth and their families.

Her experience includes working with people with mental health challenges.  Healing from experiences of trauma and adverse childhood experiences are a special interest for her.

Karen has a passion for the treatment of grief and loss, addiction and co-occurring disorders and autism and the impacts these experiences have on the family and life.
Karen has experienced the amazing capacity we all have for growth and healing. The process of seeking help and creating a therapeutic relationship through the counselling process opens the opportunity to experience our inner strength and resilience,  moving us from experiencing the pain and suffering to thriving and flourishing.
In the last decade there has been greater understanding about the role of the brain in mental health struggles and it’s incredible capacity for healing. Through the process of therapy we can work together to take advantage of the neuroplasticity in the brain to create change, healing, build greater resilience, moving from distress to calm, sadness to happiness and living with joy, and strengthening connections to feel hope and belonging.
