About the Group

Thank you for showing interest in our Core Connector Initiative! Our aim is to improve the mental health literacy among high school students throughout the Lower Mainland.
During this two day virtual session, students will learn about topics such as stress management, anxiety, social media, depression, and interpersonal dynamics with peers and family. Since the conversation around these issues is not directly implemented into the high school curriculum, we have partnered with the Adam's Apples Foundation and Masters Students studying counselling to offer this virtual workshop for high school students. Upon completion of this course, students can move forward with greater empathy, understanding, and passion for ending the stigma surrounding mental health, while developing skills which improve your sense of self and connection to others. Participants will also receive a certificate of completion from the Adams Apples Foundation and UBC, and an opportunity to apply for a postsecondary scholarship.
