EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Blake Miller (he/him) is a Registered Social Worker with the British Columbia College of Social Workers. Blake holds a Master’s Degree from the University of British Columbia Okanagan and an Honours Degree in Psychology from Carleton University. Blake has spent over five years working in community mental health settings, with a specific focus on complex mental health and/or substance use concerns among youth and adults.
FOCUS
Blake uses evidence-informed therapeutic modalities, weaving them to meet the unique needs of each client. Grounded in a non-pathologizing practice, he supports the exploration of personal meaning by addressing individual, relational, and systemic dynamics. Blake’s strength lies in facilitating challenging conversations that intend to foster lasting change. His areas of focus include anxiety, depression, substance use, identity and life transitions, relationships, men’s mental health, neurodiverse-affirming care, and the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community.

Approach
Blake guides his practice with a trauma-informed, person-centred, and strength-based approach. He prioritizes building trust, ensuring that sessions progress at a comfortable pace. Blake helps clients explore how environmental factors shape their experiences while promoting values-based action and emotional awareness to help create lives that feel connected and purposeful. Sessions are collaborative and co-created; he offers psychoeducation, reflective questions, exercises, and gentle prompting to support clients in examining their stories, thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
Fees
$ 160 per 50 minute session for individuals
$250 per 80 minute sessions for individuals
Payment in the form of cash, checks, or email transfer is due at the end of each session unless other arrangements have been made. Please note that 2 business days notice is required to cancel a scheduled appointment to avoid being charged the full session fee. Some third-party payment plans such as Extended Health Care Insurance and Employee/Family Assistance Programs pay partial or total coverage for counselling services. Please follow up with your benefits plan/health care provider.
