EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Carmen is a Registered Social Worker (BCCSW), Accredited Clinical Counsellor (BCACC), and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (APT) with clinical experience across community mental health, hospitals, and private practice. Her diverse clinical background includes working within complex healthcare environments, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide culturally responsive care. With over 20 years of experience, she supports children, teens, young adults, and families navigating complex challenges. Recognizing the essential role of family in human development, she works collaboratively with families to foster healing and growth.

FOCUS

Carmen has practiced play therapy since 2008 and received extensive training in Interpersonal Neurobiology of Play. She is a certified AutPlay® Therapist (play therapy for autism) and provides supervision in play therapy. Grounded in depth psychology perspective, she integrates attachment-focused, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based approaches. She also incorporates various therapeutic modalities to support each client’s unique needs.
