Approach
Shay takes an integrative and collaborative approach to therapy, meaning she draws from several evidence-based modalities based on what may be most supportive of your therapeutic goals. These modalities primarily include Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and relational therapy. Her approach is grounded in non-judgemental, collaborative, and anti-oppressive practices.
The quality of the therapeutic relationship is one of the most significant factors in meaningful change. As a relational therapist, this is at the centre of her work. Shay hopes to foster a therapeutic relationship rooted in genuine connection, support, and humour, and a space where clients can deepen their connection to themselves, their bodies, and their communities.
