Nick Schoinoplokakis (He/Him)
MA, RCC.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Nick is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. Nick has more than ten years of experience supporting children and youth in navigating the exciting yet uniquely challenging parts of growing, paired with teaching the importance of mental wellness and building a strong support system for oneself. Through Nick’s work in various roles supporting the public, he is well versed in approaching youth in a non-judgemental and trauma informed manner, which has resulted in countless positive connections for youth who needed someone in their corner.
Over time, Nick has grown a particular interest in working with clients who may feel misunderstood or overwhelmed by the expectations placed on them at school, home, work, or in relationships. He also works with parents to better understand their child’s behaviour and develop practical strategies that support connection, communication, and positive change.
FOCUS
Nick uses evidence-based therapeutic modalities in his work with his clients, and recognizes that therapy is not a “one size fits all” kind of service. He also believes in empowering his clients to advocate for what works best with them. He does this by taking the time to listen and learn more about how clients perceive the world and collect information, gather an understanding of their journey, and work alongside clients to determine which therapeutic approach is best.
Nick creates an open space to listen and provide support to children, adolescents, young adults, and families who are navigating ADHD, neurodiversity, executive functioning challenges, behavioural concerns, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, and relationship difficulties. His clinical training includes a range of evidence-based individual, family, and trauma-informed therapeutic approaches.
- Attachment Focused Therapy
- Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT)
- Emotion Family Therapy (EFT)
