EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Denada is an Intern Counsellor completing her Master’s of Counselling Psychology at Adler University. Her educational background in Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour, Sociology, and Mental Health allows her to approach clients’ concerns from an interdisciplinary, broadly informed perspective. She has done research in educational settings, aiming to understand the impacts of school climate on youth experiences. Denada has many years of professional experience in behaviour intervention, working with neurodiverse youth facing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. Denada provides one-on-one support and group facilitation to young children using creativity and play as a vehicle for teaching and strengthening skills. 

FOCUS

Denada is passionate about working with youth and families to address mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, ASD, ADHD, trauma, emotional dysregulation, and self-esteem challenges. She is interested in helping families cope with significant life transitions by providing tools and support to parents. Denada’s approach to counselling is client-centred and trauma-informed, emphasizing collaboration and choice. She applies CBT and ACT principles to address client concerns by normalizing mental health struggles, clarifying what’s important, and taking actionable steps in the face of adversity.
