Lisa is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with 18 years experience in community mental health who focuses on youth and adults with complex mental health concerns, as well as their families. She has experience supporting trans and non-binary youth and adults, and offers couples counselling.

Lisa is client-centered and family-focused in her approach to counselling with teens, young adults, and adults. She has a strong understanding of complex mental health issues and its impact on families. As a skilled therapist with a background in community mental health her expertise lies in working with a multitude of mental health concerns; she also has experience with supporting trans and non-binary youth and adults, as well as offering individual and couples counselling.

Approach

Lisa believes therapy begins and ends with the therapeutic relationship; the ability to listen, empathize and understand is paramount in supporting clients in developing their personal goals of therapy. She works from a collaborative, client-centered approach and operates from the biopsychosocial model – in that a person’s biological diagnosis, social and family history, experiences of trauma, and current social environment interact to influence their present mental health.

She has 18 years of experience in the filed of counselling, with numerous modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT), Trauma Focused CBT (TFCBT), and others. She has worked successfully to treat and support clients with a multitude of mental health concerns.

Fees

$ 170 per 50 minute session for Individuals

$ 200 per 50 Minutes Session for Couples/Family

Payment in the form of credit card or email transfer is due at the end of each session unless other arrangements have been made. Please note that 2 business days notice is required to cancel a scheduled appointment to avoid being charged the full session fee. Some third party payment plans such as Extended Health Care Insurance and Employee/Family Assistance Programs pay partial or total coverage for counselling services. Please follow up with your benefits plan/health care provider.
