Clara Weill (she/her)
MSc., RCC
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Clara holds a Master of Science in Psychology from Brunel University London (UK). Before moving into counselling, she worked as a behavior interventionist with neurodivergent children and teens, and as a group assistant at the So Social Centre, where she supported kids in group settings using the Social Thinking curriculum This early experience shaped her interest in working with neurodivergent children and teens, and continues to inform her clinically grounded, relationship-based approach today. Clara completed her counselling training through Yorkville University and she is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), and provides services in both English and French.
FOCUS
Clara practices primarily through an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) lens, supporting children and teens in building emotional awareness, self-compassion, and a strong sense of who they are and what matters to them. Her work centres on developing emotional regulation, acceptance skills, and values-oriented action, equipping clients with tools they can carry into daily life. Clara blends ACT with creative approaches — including creative writing, book reading, and art projects — to meet each child where they are, making sessions both accessible and engaging. She works with children and teens ages 4–18 presenting with anxiety, ADHD, ASD, giftedness, twice exceptionality, and selective mutism, and increasingly with their siblings.
Clara uses evidence-based therapeutic modalities in her work with clients.
– Social Thinking curriculum
– Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
– Narrative Therapy
– Superhero Therapy (an evidence-based clinical framework created by Dr. Janina Scarlet that incorporates pop culture — books, movies, and more — into traditional therapies such as ACT and CBT)

Approach
Clara’s therapeutic approach is warm, curious, and neurodiversity-affirming, rooted in building genuine connection and understanding each client’s unique way of experiencing the world. With younger clients, she uses creative, playful methods — storytelling, art, and books — to make abstract concepts like feelings and values feel tangible and accessible, honouring each child’s own communication style and pace. Caregiver collaboration is a central part of her work; Clara partners closely with parents to ensure strategies carry over into daily life at home, and increasingly works with siblings too, recognizing that neurodivergence shapes the whole family system.
With teens, Clara’s approach shifts towards collaboration and empowerment, helping clients build self-awareness and the tools to act in line with what matters to them. Using an ACT foundation, she helps clients notice unhelpful thought patterns without judgment, creating space for acceptance and self-compassion alongside change. Clara meets each client where they are, moving at their pace while offering clear, affirming guidance along the way.
