EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Jenny is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and a Registered Clinical Counsellor with over a decade of experience in a mental health program at BC Children’s Hospital. Her expertise spans various inpatient and outpatient programs, including Child Psychiatry Unit, Neuro Psychiatry, Infant Psychiatry, ADHD, Urgent Assessment, and Family Therapy Clinic.

With an extensive experience in providing therapy for children and youth for a wide range of mental health, emotional, social and relational issues, Jenny recognizes the crucial role families play in a children’s well-being and encourages their active involvement in the therapeutic process. She is passionate about working with parents and caregivers, providing them with education and support to empower them in supporting their loved ones.

Jenny is highly trained and skilled couples therapist with in depth knowledge of relationship issues and dynamic. She enjoys working with couples to regain their connection.

FOCUS

Jenny is client-centered, solution-focused, and family-focused in her approach to therapy. As a skilled therapist, she has helped Individuals, couples, and families work through grief, trauma, conflict, burnout, and other challenges that can often throw the family dynamic into disarray. She focuses on guiding individual, couples, and families with a gentle hand helping them accept certain challenges and explore their own competencies and resiliencies. Jennifer uses evidence-based therapeutic modalities in her work with her clients.

Approach

Jenny’s therapeutic approach involves working calmly with children, youth, and families to set goals and develop strategies collaboratively. Jenny takes a gentle and inclusive approach to family therapy, quickly building a rapport with everyone in the room using compassion, empathy, and a good sense of humour. She has seen firsthand the ability families have to shake off negative patterns, make subtle changes, and find new ways of coming together and she strongly believes in people’s ability to heal and get better together.

Fees

$170 per 50 minute session for individuals

$ 200 Per 50 Minute Session for Couples/family

Payment in the form of cheques or email transfer is due at the end of each session unless other arrangements have been made. Please note that 2 business days notice is required to cancel a scheduled appointment to avoid being charged the full session fee. Some third party payment plans such as Extended Health Care Insurance and Employee/Family. Assistance Programs pay partial or total coverage for counselling services. Please follow up with your benefits plan/health care provider.
